While our primary goal is always zealous advocacy of our clients' interests within the bounds of the law, every lawyer has an underlying philosophy that guides his practice. Sometimes this philosophy is in accord with a client's deeper convictions, desires, and needs, and sometimes it is not.

We agree with Thomas Jefferson when he said that agriculture "is our wisest pursuit, because it will in the end contribute most to real wealth, good morals and happiness." However, the increasing pressures of centralized economies and governments characterized by biggness, distance, and bureaucracy continue to undermine and threaten the traditional ways of life embodied in our local communities, economies, and ecologies. With the loss of the cultivator class and their communities, America's form of self-government is itself threatened.
